To improve effectiveness of meetings by the development of chairmanship techniques, and the confidence to use them.
Content
The importance of preparation, including use and structure of the agenda
Logging and monitoring action points and ‘coding’
The chairperson’s role and responsibilities
Encouraging contributions, decisions and actions
Keeping meetings alive
Ensuring topics are covered and decisions reached
Keeping to time
Leadership style – domination versus control
Participants undertake a number of practical exercises during this course, along with participating in a meeting.
