Course objectives
To increase participant’s awareness of their own behaviour patterns and the impact these have on individual and group performance.
To improve effectiveness by understanding how to practise positive, assertive behaviour and minimise aggressive and passive behaviour.
Content
Examination of the different behavioural types, aggressive, passive, assertive and the effects of each on self and others
Dealing with difficult situations and learning how to handle these assertively
Self analysis of ‘beliefs’ and ‘inner dialogues’ and how these affect the way we deal with people
Developing personal effectiveness in dealing with aggression and non-assertion, including handling negative feelings
This is a demanding course requiring critical self examination by the participant. It deals with negative aspects of both aggressive and non-assertive behaviours.
This course includes a high degree of constructive feedback. It is recommended that delegates be briefed on the reasons why they have been nominated, and how it is expected to improve their performance.
